Built around the famous South Zeal Menhir Standing Stone, this 12th-century manor house isin its own 4-acre monastery gardens in a pretty Devonshire village. A granite Tudor porch leads to a 536-year-old bar with a roaring log fire, and there is free WiFi and free parking on site.
The Oxenham Arms Hotel Devon is one of the oldest inns in England. Home to a 14th century pirate It was once visited for a month by Charles Dickens and is the subject of a great many literary works.
